“We sincerely apologise for the inconveniences and assure our valued customers that power supply will improve as soon as power allocation increases.”

The Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company (IBEDC) has explained that the current power outages being experienced by customers within its franchise areas are due to a drop in power allocation from the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) occasioned by low generation from the Generation Companies (GenCos).

Speaking through the Media Relations Manager, Busolami Tunwase, when contacted, the company apologises for the inconveniences, assuring that the power supply will improve as soon as power allocation increases.

She explained that series of notice of the power outage has been sent to the customers across the franchise areas to keep them abreast of the development earlier.

She supported the claims with some e-fliers which she sent to Corenews. ng, noting that the same messages had been sent through the company’s communication channels to the customers.

Tunwase said “Kindly note that the power outage currently being experienced within our franchise (Oyo, Ibadan, Ogun, Kwara, and Osun regions) is due to a drop in power allocation from the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) occasioned by low generation from the Generation Companies (GenCos).

“We sincerely apologise for the inconveniences and assure our valued customers that power supply will improve as soon as power allocation increases.”
