Nigeria's Super Falcons goalkeeper, Chiamaka Nnadozie, has been named the Women's Goalkeeper of the Year at the 2024 CAF Awards.

This solidifies her reputation as one of the finest shot-stoppers in world football, winning it last year in 2023.

Last year, Paris FC's goalkeeper outperformed fellow shot-stoppers, Moroccan Khadija El-Rmichi and South Africa’s Andile Olaminii.

The Paris FC and Super Falcons goalkeeper was honored during the grand ceremony in Marrakech, Morocco on Monday night, after a phenomenal year that saw her deliver consistent, match-winning performances on both the club and international stages.

Nnadozie played a crucial role in Nigeria’s successful campaign during the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers. She was also instrumental in Paris FC’s remarkable journey in the UEFA Women’s Champions League, where her outstanding performances in penalty shootouts garnered international recognition.

Expressing her joy, Nnadozie said, “This is for every young girl who dares to dream. I am honoured to represent Nigeria and Africa on this stage. This award is a testament to hard work, resilience, and the incredible support I’ve received from my teammates and coaches.”

PUNCH Online, the Nigeria Football Federation has also congratulated Nnadozie on her feat.
