Commissioning Of New Olubadan Palace Set For Wednesday

All is set for the opening of the ultra-modern Olubadan palace in Oke-Aremo, Ibadan, Oyo State, the Chief Press Secretary (CPS) to the Governor, Sulaimon Olanrewaju, confirmed yesterday.

He said Governor Seyi Makinde will open the multi-million-naira edifice on Wednesday.

Olubadan-designate, Oba Owolabi Olakulehin, will make history as the first monarch to occupy the ultra-modern palace.

According to THE NATION, A source close to the Olubadan-designate said Olakulehin would operate from the palace.

The palace has been under construction for several years, it has been completed and is ready for use.

It is a symbol of tradition and modernity, blending the rich cultural heritage of the Yoruba with contemporary architecture.

The coronation of the Olubadan-designate, Oba Olakulehin, as the 43rd Olubadan of Ibadanland, is generating excitement in Ibadanland, as indigenes of the ancient city have started counting down and eagerly awaiting the installation of the monarch.

Preparations are in top gear for the coronation, which is scheduled to take place on Friday at the historic Mapo Hall, Ibadan.

Olakulehin’s coronation is expected to attract dignitaries from all walks of life, including traditional rulers, government officials, and business tycoons.
