Isese Day: Oyo, Osun, Lagos, Ogun Declare Today As Public Holiday

The governments of Lagos, Osun, Oyo, and Ogun have declared today public holiday to mark Isese Day.

According to THE NATION, The announcements were contained in circulars yesterday by the commissioners of information for each state.

Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State made this declaration on Wednesday, last week. The announcement was contained in a circular issued by the Secretary to the Oyo State Government, Professor Olanike Adeyemo, made available to the press by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Sulaimon Olanrewaju, Ibadan Media reported.

Recall that Governor Makinde stated last year that every August 20 would be observed as a work-free day in the state, in commemoration of Isese Day.

The governments, in the circular, enjoined all traditional worshippers and citizens to use the day to pray for the peace, unity, and stability of the state in particular and the country in general.
