Reported by Ayooluwa Afolabi

Governor Seyi Makinde has declared August 20 a work-free day to mark the 2024 Isese Day.

Makinde made this declaration on Wednesday. The announcement was contained in a circular issued by the Secretary to the Oyo State Government, Professor Olanike Adeyemo, made available to the press by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Sulaimon Olanrewaju, DAILY POST reported.

Recall that Governor Makinde stated last year that every August 20 would be observed as a work-free day in the state, in commemoration of Isese Day.

The government, in the circular, enjoined all traditional worshippers and citizens to use the day to pray for the peace, unity, and stability of the state in particular and the country in general.

The statement said: “The governor, in the circular, encouraged all traditional worshippers and all citizens to use the day to pray for the peace, unity, and stability of the state in particular and the country in general.”
