Julikol Foundation Hosts Slum Kids Fest In Makoko Community

The vibrant Makoko Community was transformed into a haven of joy, laughter, and celebration as the Julikol Foundation hosted the summer edition of Slum Kids Fest in Makoko Community, Lagos State, Nigeria. 

Showcasing of community spirit and the power of collective effort. The heartwarming event was a resounding success, uniting children and families in a day of unforgettable activities and impactful moments.

The Fest is known for its commitment to bringing joy and positive experiences to relegated communities since 2020 and continues to expand its reach and impact across Nigeria and Africa.

Slum Kids’ Fest, Lagos edition was powered by Bigfoot Cares. Its inaugural event was held earlier this year on the 24th of May which was met with enthusiasm in Beere, Ibadan, Oyo State and was powered by Triumph Petroleum and M-One Security.

The visionary behind the event and Chairman board of trustees of the Julikol Foundation, Oluwaseun Oluwajana, fondly known as Seun Jana, expressed his heartfelt gratitude for the overwhelming support received, \"This festival is not just about providing a day of fun; it\'s about igniting hope and inspiration in the hearts of these children,\" he said. 

\"I am deeply moved by the generosity of our partners, Bigfoot Cares, and the tireless efforts of our volunteers. Their commitment makes events like these possible and demonstrates the incredible power of community collaboration.\"

Seun Jana\'s passion for social impact is evident in every edition of the fest, reflecting his dedication to improving the lives of underprivileged children.

His leadership and personal touch have been instrumental in shaping the initiative’s success and ensuring that each festival is a meaningful experience for all involved.

The event featured a wide array of activities designed to engage and entertain, including games, educational workshops, competitions and performances that captivated the children and their families. Attendees enjoyed a variety of food items, received gifts, and experienced a strong sense of community that showed the strength and resilience of the Makoko area.

As the SLUM KIDS’ FEST continues to expand its reach, the Julikol Foundation which has been impacting the well-being of widows, orphans and less privileged across Nigeria remains committed to its mission of fostering hope and creating opportunities for children in demoted communities. 

Plans for future editions are already underway, intending to reach even more areas and bring the spirit of SLUM KIDS FEST to relegated communities across Nigeria.
