Just In: Makinde Joins NLC Protest In Ibadan

27 February
The Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde, on Tuesday, has joined the National Labour Congress Workers (NLC) in Ibadan who were protesting over the hardship and the deteriorating economic situation in the country.

Governor Makinde while addressing the protesters said hardship and poverty have reached alarming levels, with many unable to feed themselves or find work.

He urged all parties to work together to find solutions to the hardship occasioned by the fuel subsidy removal and the high rate of exchange, expressing hope that the situation can be turned around.

‘There is hunger and hardship in the land. We must do something about it.”

Governor Makinde noted that the worsening economic situation is not unique to Oyo State, but rather a nationwide issue.

He called on the federal government to take action to alleviate the suffering of the people, emphasizing the need for policies that promote growth and job creation.
