Late Oyo APC Chairman, Omodewu To Be Buried September 13

The body of the late Chairman of the All Progressives Congress in Oyo State, Isaac Omodewu, will arrive in Nigeria from the United States of America on Thursday, September 12, 2024, the party’s state Publicity Secretary, Wale Sadare, confirmed this on Sunday.
According to THE PUNCH, He made this confirmation in a telephone interview with their correspondent in Ibadan, the state capital.
Omodewu, who travelled in November 2023 for medical trip in the USA, gave up the ghost on Sunday, August 18 during the illness.
Sadare said, “The body of our chairman will leave USA on September 11, arrive in Nigeria on Thursday, September 12. We will hold a Christian wake on Thursday in Ibadan, while church service and burial will hold in his home town, Otu in the Itesiwaju Local Government Area of the state, on Friday September 13.”
Omodewu served as a Commissioner in the late former Governor Abiola Ajimobi’s administration.
The late chairman was inaugurated alongside other 34 state chairmen by the Governor Mai Mala Buni-led Caretaker Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee in February 2022.
He emerged from the state congress conducted in October 2021.
On whether his deputy, Olayide Abas, will be sworn-in after the burial of the late chairman, APC publicity secretary said, “We have not acted on it. We will work on it after the burial. We put it on hold for now. We want to give our chairman last respect.”
Abas hails from Igboora, the headquarters of Ibarapa Central Local Government Area of the state.
