Nigeria\'s National Power Grid Collapses for Third Time in One Week

Nigeria\'s national power grid experienced its third collapse in just one week, leaving millions without electricity. The latest outage occurred on Saturday morning at 8:16 am.

According to The  PUNCH,power generation was initially at 3,042 megawatts at 8 am and had peaked at 3,968MW just hours earlier at 7 am. However, generation plummeted to a mere 47MW by 9 am.

As a result, allocation to power distribution companies stood at 0.00MW, indicating a complete loss of power supply.

The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has yet to comment on the cause of the collapse.

This latest outage follows two previous grid trips on Monday and Tuesday, highlighting concerns over the reliability and stability of Nigeria\'s power infrastructure.
