Ola Olanrewaju Inducted into Nigeria’s Premier Public Relations Institute, NIPR
Renowned journalist and public relations strategist Ola Olalekan Olanrewaju was officially inducted into the prestigious Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) on Saturday, December 7, 2024. The induction ceremony, held at the National Press Centre, Radio House, Abuja, celebrated the accomplishments and commitment of public relations professionals across Nigeria.
The special induction event featured new members, including information officers of the Federal Ministry of Information and National Orientation, alongside direct inductees.
December has been particularly momentous for Olanrewaju. After being inducted as a full member of the Institute of Personality Development and Customer Relationship Management (IPD-CRM) on November 21, he also celebrated his birthday and wedding anniversary on December 2. His NIPR induction, earning him the post-nominal title "anipr," adds another significant milestone to his achievements.
In his remarks, Olanrewaju expressed gratitude for the honor and pledged to uphold the institute’s high standards. "This induction represents a call to greater responsibility in advancing strategic communication and stakeholder engagement in Nigeria," he stated.
The induction ceremony was graced by dignitaries such as the Vice President and Vice Chairman of the NIPR Governing Council, Prof. Emmanuel Dandaura, fnipr. The Honourable Minister of Information and National Orientation, Alhaji Idris Mohammed, fnipr, represented by Dr. Suleiman Haruna, Director of Information and Public Relations, FMI&NO, delivered the welcome address.
A key highlight was the Induction Orientation Lecture, presented by Dr. Afolabi Olajuwon, Secretary of the Training and Capacity Building Committee. His lecture underscored the critical role of ethical communication in shaping Nigeria's public relations landscape.
Chief Uzoma Onyegbadue, fnipr, Registrar of NIPR, administered the induction oath, emphasizing the institute’s core values and the responsibilities of its members. Dr. Ike Neliaku, fnipr, President and Chairman of the NIPR Governing Council, formally inducted the new members. He also delivered an inspiring speech, reaffirming the institute's commitment to professionalism and capacity building.
The ceremony concluded with networking sessions, fostering collaboration among members to address emerging trends and challenges in public relations.
