Olubadan Issues Warning to Mogajis Against Oppression

The Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Owolabi Olakulehin, cautioned newly appointed Mogajis and Baales in Ibadanland on Monday not to misuse their authority to oppress their communities. 

This warning was delivered during the installation ceremony for 12 Mogajis and three Baales at the Olubadan Palace, Oke Aremo, in Ibadan, the capital of Oyo State.

Among those appointed as Mogajis were Saheed Adeyemo of the Jatao family, Oladejo Moruf of the Omotara family, Amos Oladokun of the Obatolu family in Oke Ofa, Fagbamiro Funminiyi of Fagorioye compound, Muili AbdulLateef of the Asaka family, and Joseph Kehinde of the Onisade family, among others. 

The newly appointed Baales include Olawatosin Oladimeji (Segelu) of Eleruko village in Lagelu Local Government, Safiu Gbedeogun of Gbedeogun village in Oluyole Local Government, and Fatai Oni of Aba Oni village in Ido Local Government.

Oba Olakulehin, represented by the Ekaarun Balogun of Ibadanland, High Chief (Senator) Sharafadeen Alli, emphasized, “The new Mogajis and Baales must not exploit their positions to harm their subjects. You serve as representatives of the Olubadan in your respective communities, and the Olubadan is the paramount ruler.”

He warned against land grabbing and stated that anyone found guilty of misconduct would face removal or sanctions, affirming the Olubadan\'s ownership of the title. 

The ceremony was attended by several dignitaries, including the Balogun of Ibadanland, Oba Tajudeen Ajibola, and other notable figures from the region.
