Oyo State High Court Justice Is Dead

The Oyo State Judiciary is mourning the loss of its esteemed member, Justice Adegboye Gbolagunte, who passed away on Monday, June 24, 2024.

Justice Gbolagunte reportedly died at the age of 64 in Ibadan after a brief illness. The Oyo state Judge was born on December 10, 1959.

According to the Independent, In a statement released on Tuesday, The eldest son of the late judge, Oladiran Gbolagunte, confirmed that his father died following a brief illness at a hospital in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.

The Gbolagunte family has also requested prayers for the repose of his soul while expressing their gratitude to those who have paid condolence visits.

Among the first visitors was the Chief Judge of Oyo State, Justice Iyabo Subulade Yerima, who was received by the widow, Wuraola Gbolagunte, at their family home.

Dotun Oladipo, Publisher of The Eagle Online and younger brother of Wuraola Gbolagunte was also present during Justice Yerima’s visit.
 
Condolence registers have been opened at the Gbolagunte residence and the Oyo State Judiciary headquarters in 
Ibadan.

Justice Gbolagunte is survived by his wife, Wuraola; son, Oladiran, a digital technologist with a specialization in Network Communications; a daughter, Oladoyin, a lawyer and an accountant; and another son, Oladotun, also a lawyer and four grandchildren.
