Remains of Late Gen. Lagbaja Depart Lagos for Abuja Ahead of Burial
The remains of the late Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lieutenant General Taoreed Lagbaja, have been airlifted from the Nigerian Airforce (NAF) Wing of Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA) Lagos en route to Abuja.
At 9:00 am, Soldiers of the Guards Brigade solemnly received the body, preparing to pay their final respects to the fallen military leader.
The late COAS died last Tuesday at the age of 56, after an undisclosed ailment.
He was appointed as Chief of Army Staff by President Bola Tinubu on June 19, 2023.
His body is being expected in Abuja for other burial rites ahead of the final internment at the National Military Cemetery in the nation’s capital city on Friday, November 15, 2024.
