The Oyo and Ogun High Court have sentenced not fewer than seven internet fraudsters to jail terms after being investigated, prosecuted and convicted.
The convicts were sentenced to various jail terms over their involvement in internet fraud.
Ibadan Media gathered that the Ibadan Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, secured their conviction.
The convicts include Adio Peter Olakunle, Adebanjo Oluwafemi Samuel, Ezekiel Papi Kolawole, Lukman Olakunle Alabi, Sakiru Olamilekan Usman, Godwin Moses Abaka and Amosu Oladele Gbenon.
They were arraigned on one-count separate charge each before Justices M.O. Ishola, O.A. Lajide of the Oyo State High Court sitting in Ibadan and S.O. Adeniyi of the Ogun State High Court, Abeokuta.
Head of Media and Publicity of EFCC, Dele Oyewale, in a statement made available to the media on Tuesday said the convicts were ordered to restitute their various victims and forfeit all items recovered from them to the Federal Government of Nigeria.
He noted that the convicts began their journey to the correctional centre when they were arrested by operatives of the commission.
He added that they were arrested over internet-related offences.
He maintained that the convicts were investigated, prosecuted and convicted.
